More About Me

I grew up in San Diego, California. As a teenager I played a lot of baseball and was a member of the 1958 Colt League World Championship Team "The North San Diego All Stars". At the age of 15 I met a pretty platinum blond 13 year old girl that would become my best friend. Six years later she would become my wife and still remain my best friend. We raised 3 daughters one of which has blessed us with 2 grandchildren. During high school and junior college I worked at a Safeway grocery store. I joined the Coast Guard Reserves and reached a final rating of Radioman 2nd Class. After basic training I obtained a 3 month temporary Civil Service job and spent 33 years there before retiring. In 1985 my wife and I saw some people flying some 2 string kites. I felt a calling to do that and in 1986 became the leader of a synchronized team of stunt kite fliers that would beome National Champions from 1986 through 1992 including a World Championship in 1990. This adventure included all expense paid international travel to England, France, Germany, Canada, Japan and Australia as well as Hawaii.  In 1994 my wife and I self published the book (Kite Precision, your comprehensive guide for flying controllable kite). I have recently made the book available for free at: http://rrprograms.web.officelive.com/
In the mid 60's I became interested in photography. More specifically 3D stereo pairs. Recently, I have taken to teaching techniques for taking and viewing 3D photos with any camera, even your cell phone camera. Another recent activity is wood carving. I like relief carving and making wooden spoons.
